Jane Taubenfeld Cohen Wins Prestigious National Educator Award
BOSTON, MASS. (Issued May 2006) — Jane Taubenfeld Cohen of Sharon (Mass.), Head of the South Area Solomon Schechter Day School in Stoughton, has been named the 2006 recipient of The prestigious Covenant Foundation Award, sponsored by the Crown Family Foundation and the Jewish Education Service of North America.
The Covenant Foundation honors outstanding Jewish educators and supports creative approaches to programming who have distinguished themselves through their creativity, commitment, and talent. The prize carries a monetary award for the educator and for the institution.

Schechter Manhattan Recipient of
“Blackboard Award for Outstanding Elementary School”
After ten years of hard work and ongoing
self-reflection, we are all proud that our school has truly come of age. Last June we all celebrated the graduation of our first eleven graduates, just as we welcomed in our largest kindergarten to date. Our successes over the years have been noted at the national level within the Jewish Day School world, but ironically, our school remained rather unknown in the New York City educational community.
