Member Services
The SSDSA:
- Provides ongoing professional support to the educational leaders including heads of school, principals, directors of Judaic Studies, and admission directors. This includes school visits, mentoring, peer exchanges via listservs, conferences and seminars, and individual telephone consultations.
- Plans and convenes conference call consultations and webinars with experts in governance, admission, strategic planning, and institutional advancement for lay and professional leaders.
- Coordinates and supports the programs and initiatives of the Association, including professional development conferences for administrators, teachers and lay leaders.
- Organizes a biennial North American conference of SSDSA professional and day leaders.
- Manages listservs for Schechter leadership, management professionals and school presidents that serve as an open highway for peer exchanges about school policies and best practices and encourage the collegial discussions.
- Assists Boards of Trustees to strengthen their governance and leadership skills.
- Offers a career placement referral service for schools seeking to fill a vacancy in a leadership position (head of school, principal, Judaic Studies Director, Rabbi-in-Residence) and for professionals applying for a new leadership position.
